Our Story — Cow & Coconut
At Cow & Coconut, we’re guided by one simple truth: the things we use every day—on our skin, in our homes, and with our little ones—shouldn’t harm the planet, or our bodies. We believe sustainability starts at home, and often, in the tiniest of everyday choices.
Humble Beginnings
It all kicked off back in 2014, in the misty atmosphere of Scotland, when our founder Ashlie had one too many “meh” hair-washing days. A quest for a gentler, more natural routine soon turned into a full-blown deep dive into skincare ingredients, DIY experiments, and a growing curiosity about what we’re really putting on our skin.
From whipping up her own deodorant and facial oil to having a good go at homemade mascara (a noble effort, but let’s just say... not one for the shelf), Ashlie discovered not just the power of natural alternatives, but the impact synthetic ingredients can have on our health and the environment.
That’s when the mission became clear: find better, simpler products that actually work—and share them with others looking to do the same.
How We’ve Grown
Since those DIY days, Cow & Coconut has blossomed into a purpose-driven space where every product tells a story. From our own handmade skincare, lovingly crafted in-store in small batches, to carefully chosen clean beauty, low-tox cleaning essentials, and natural goodies for mums and bubs—we’re here to make conscious living feel easy, not intimidating.
You’ll even find a little rack of secondhand fashion in-store, because we believe sustainability doesn’t stop with skincare. Clothes deserve a second go-round too.
We’re not about perfection—we’re about progress. Choosing your deodorant, your lip balm, your laundry spray with care, not compromise.
